Blue O? Is it some Japanese thing or was the "O" a circle, as in censorship? Then I guess the author is old enough to remember Blue Pepsi. Never tasted it myself, but it's notorious for its chemical taste with those who did.

Don't remind me, I had one of those as a kid and it tasted like blue, as in you could taste more artificial colouring than soda.
It was awful like a lot of those gimmick drinks over the years.
