Long lived brain being showcased here. Would be weird if they didn't have exceptionally good memories, considering how much data they'll eventually compile up there. Too oft fantasy doesn't hilight the obvious differences the wetware of various species would have.

I must admit, his rare interactions with other elves are my favorite parts of this story. They're wholesome because of how much the elves love him, but also funny because it highlights how bizarre he is, even for an elf. Especially an elf.

Normal humans can't tell the difference. The hermits can tell, and elves can tell, but most people of most races may not even know what the difference means.
