It's really sad that the reason why Luxi's mom is so against her daughter dating a girl is that she doesn't want her daughter to have to endure discrimination and judgment from others.

But I love seeing Tongtong's mom call Luxi's mom out and let her know that it's wrong to hold this type of mentality because of some negative comments and that she's actually hurting Luxi by not approving of her dating a girl.

But it's insane to see Luxi's mom retort by calling Tongtong's mom a slut and refuse to understand that some of Luxi's problems are the result of her.

I do think it's sweet that it looks like Tongtong and Luxi followed Luxi's mom after she left the apartment, and hopefully, this leads to a scenario where they are finally able to see eye to eye.

It's sad that we live in a world where people say things like those comments. But trying to ruin a happy relationship because others may not like it is just giving them what they want. Why do they deserve happiness over your own daughter?

People don’t realize some homophobia or lack of acceptance for someone’s own child is fear based. Granted she’s in denial that she caused her daughter trauma (which she very much did), some parents feel they are protecting their child from the cruelty of hatred and ignorance by keeping their kid in the closet. Now I'm reminded of my own mother when I told her I was trans... She was scared I'd be bullied even more than when i was in highschool for being autistic so she held off on helping me get gender affirming medication. Saving your kid from dealing with discrimination doesn't work when you're trying to stop your kid from being who they are, that'll just make them hate you and you'll delude yourself into thinking you were doing the right thing. It's a horrible thing to obsess over.
