I’m really glad to see this version being made into a manga, while I did enjoy the original story, I prefer this version, as the build up to the last volume kinda overstayed it welcome a bit. And this, even when knowing about how future events are going to go, doesn’t make it immediately obvious what direction they (Marie and Leon) will go or what actions they will do in order to achieve their objectives.

I think the novel stated that the main reason she failed was because she failed to trigger the first prince encounter, and that she needed to get the prince to have an interest in her first before any of the other love interests would take notice of her.
In short, because she failed to attract the first prince’s attention, the others don’t bother with her existence, and just sees her as a mob
