If that’s the case, I’m wondering what Anna’s reaction on page 6 is about. She looks like she’s steeling herself to do something, like intervene in the conversation with the playboy and her mom

There was an obvious jump in scene there, but I the way I read it all is as follows:

I assume Anna went up to her mom & Ken with the intent of making sure her mom was okay, and that segued into Mom & Anna needing to head out to the Restaurant After-Party anyway.

Mom saw an opportunity to network via Ken for the sake of Anna's career, potentially, and invited him along to the after-party at the restaurant. Plus, people there might like to meet him, making it a pseudo-PR event for him as well.

And I'm willing to bet Mom was wise to what Ken's motives were, and chose to show off her terrifying, known-chef of a husband to implicitly show that Ken better not get any funny ideas about her or Anna in the future.

So she drives herself, Anna, and Ken over to the restaurant, introduces Ken to her husband (shutting him down), and introducing him to the staff / restaurant to build a connection in a wholesome way.
Anna walks in after her mom & Ken do, reuniting with Kyou at the end there, where they breathe a sigh of relief over it all ending okay.

That's what Anna thought she needed to do, but as we saw at the beginning of the chapter, Mama was already planning on going to Pop's place ("I know a nice place"). The point is Anna was overreacting and reading the room wrong. She probably just went over, and Mom told them where they would be going, and that was that.

Pop wasn't surprised they were coming, because he called Mom (as we saw), and she likely told him they'd meet him there. She comes in and hugs all over her hubby because she doesn't care about this other guy (as an adult, she might have even known what he was up to, in which case her husband's restaurant is an obvious but polite, "NO!"). Just a funny chapter, using cuts to make the punchlines work.

I 100% got swept up in the tension of the last couple chapters (that's my own fault, I get swept up in stuff I enjoy super easily, not blaming anyone or anything else)
but I really enjoyed the smash cuts between scenes and how there was enough "fill in the blanks" that you end up with the whole story by the end of the night, but you have to take the time to read through a couple times and pick up on the little hints and details that inform the story, rather than it being spoon-fed to the reader the whole way through.

Just nice to see a manga relying on stuff like subtext and implications through both illustration and dialogue to tell a more complex story in a humorous & dramatic way.

And that year end party looks (technically) more exclusive than the show biz function they were just at. Take the W my man. You could've ended up pummeled by the husband, having rumors spread about how sleazy you are (rumors that could ruin a career that is entirely based on reputation), or, if god forbid you managed to get her in bed, any number of issues associated with an affair. This isn't magic hentai land (though I guess it could be as it is still magic manga land). A marriage is a legal contract and affairs can get really messy with a lot of consequences for all involved parties. That's still not even mentioning if you got her pregnant.

Immediately after this guy was introduced the manga showed us that he got into a big scandal about his dozens of mistresses (page 11 of chapter 96). He doesn't care about rumors, because they don't affect him.
