It's played for a laugh, but the literal punchline is that she realized this and wants to have as much time with the guy as possible. It's actually a neat depressing idea. Whereas we'd usually get a slow burn, the elf here literally goes "the guy will be dead in what feels like no time at all to me; I better hurry."This is actually pretty sad.

I mean, the trope does kinda have roots from actual mythology, particularly that of the fae which really are a case of "Time flies when you're having fun" sort of deal... When they're not being nightmarish little bastards tormenting people for some strange logic humans cannot comprehend...Oh look, it's the ridiculous trope that a long-lived race will somehow experience some sort of time dilation and have no concept of time.
