Interesting lore drop in a throw-away line. What's interesting is that there's an establishment that particularly caters to orphans; it's usually unheard of for orphans to experience some form of social mobility. Royal guards are stationed to protect the settlement, stated to deter slave traders. However, right before such an altruistic line, Allie mentions that it's for orphans who are born to warriors. Perhaps they could come from common soldiers, or the last-standing members of a fallen noble house (less likely, assuming that all their wealth was tied to their estates and was thereby seized/burned). I think it's pertinent to the current background story of the wealth divide. Is the implication that some commoners had will protections (in the case of death through battle), or that even death, nobles will be favored?
Also, I don't think Allie has to worry about marriage. Her family is so large that they can stand together and form any shape under the sun. Allie did mention that she was a lower-ranking noble, so there's less chance of a bloody family feud for inheritance.
