Dude litteraly just heard that the closer your magic is to your lineage, the easier it is to use and he is surprised to be weak AF in the magic opposite to his lineage, it's obvious he's used to being OP.
@KINGwaldo The funniest part is that his rank is accurate, he really suck that much at dark magic and he is too much of a dumbass chunni to try something else at least for the ranking and yet he is still surprised he failed.
If done correctly this could be an interesting take on a teenager rebelling against what they are supposed to do,(supposed to be holy knight - tries to be dark knight) but I think it's just going to be a gag manga.
I don't get his confidence. It's not like a certain person who's so chuuni he gathered 10 subordinates and made up stories about a certain cult worshipping Diabolos. He knows his dark magic is at the lowest rank, but what makes him think he's going to be evaluated high?
Very high levels of optimism and lack of perspective due to being showered with praise all his life. He seems self-aware about his inadequacies but he didn't realize how bad he actually is in comparison to others without his OP light magic. This is a bit clearer in the novel because expressing internal thought is easier with pure text.
Honestly, I like this MC so much better than your stereotypical OP paragon who decimates his opponents because he's morally right or is completely grimdark and the epitome of the 90s action hero. He's just a dumbass trying too hard to be cool and that shit's hilarious.
did the ball only measure for dark magic....it reported everything else except dark magic rank for the maid but only dark magic rank for him....im done with this
