Of course it is a test. His principle is not universal because he also do what people he kill do. That he is willing to kill people for his cause, even if it good or bad or only self-defense. With that in mind he also need to kill himself because he is willing to kill for a cause. The strange men know his principle well and also know about his own hypocrisy well. He know that his way is wrong and actually wishes that he could die too, but somehow still clinging to his flawed purpose. A great character nonetheless.

He was a bit less sinister than the last chapter made him seem. Definitely more human than I thought. I was afraid he was just gonna be a complete psychopath or something.

"Shoot him in the gay" was literally all I could think of at the last part of the chapter

I actually thought he would kill the kid after teaching him since he said that he kills everyone who has a gun.

A man who is aware of his own hypocrisy - I love this character. I wonder if he will give the kids his book so they can learn more about what actually happened and why those people think they are "sinners". I was worried that book would just be one-sided rambling, but this give me hope he might attempt to be rational - even if he is cold.

I really like this old man. He understands he is literally the same monster he is warning the kids against, but he persists in what he does because his beliefs push him to do so, just like all the people who he kills. They could be good, probably bad, but it doesn't matter to him as long as they show the traits of someone who kills. That clinical look at the human race is actually chilling.

This manhwa sets atmosphere like no other I've ever read. You get your sad moments, moments of fear, moments of rage and anger and also your sweet, dear, precious moments of gentle kindness. However, despite these kind moments, you are kept on edge because deep down, you know that these won't last forever and you must keep on moving forward. Time will not wait for you and these kids, they will not stop moving as well.

On a slightly unrelated note; when I just discovered the manhwa, I looked at the cover and thought it would be a nice little slice of life manhwa, with a blossoming friendship between two innocent children. B o y, was I wrong. Did anyone else experience the same?
