That library! It has recessed "can" lights in the ceiling, like my local public library.
There are some strangely modern touches to interior architecture and furniture sometimes. I'd swear that the furnishings in his room at the inn are made of pressboard.

I was recently reading a "doctor gets reincarnated in another world" manga, and I couldn't get a handle on the time period. They had X-rays, but lit the rooms with candles. They used horse carriages and swords, with occasional firearms. they had antiseptics and anesthesia, IV bottles, and surgery, but other aspects of medicine were rather primitive. Things like that might have worked around the turn of the 20th century, where the disparity between the electrified cities and the non-electric countryside existed, but the setting was in the imperial capital.

Damn, looking at that manga credit, I remember back then reading EDEN manga, when things get interesting, the manga got axed, what a shame. Anyway, I'm more like Wilhelm design in character sheet rather than in the actual manga, he looks too skinny...
