This was a deviation from the anime where Parisii was declared an open city to prevent collateral damage. Was the LN the same as the anime or did the manga really just bomb paris?

This is more important than anything else right now.

Never noticed the imperials are painted as hounds and the republicans as pigs.

Don't laugh until the end.

Though, it looks like it's still far from the end of the war, the same goes far Tanya's victory taste.

@YerRob Lol, They use diferent species to represent diferent countries. Wolves The Empire/Germany, Pigs The Republic/France, Cows England, etc, Mostly is to represent the predative roll of the Empire in this war. (Also I guess is easier for the artist draw this cartoony animals, because He use them every time he can)

Well, a question to the people that read the novel ...

How long ago was the divergence point between our universe and Youko Senki one? I'm asking because having a "Get away to the colonies if stuff goes really bad" backup plan was pretty a standart fare for everyone in Europe that had colonies in the early XX century century. More, in our own timeline, that strategy had been already used with relative success during the Napoleonic wars by Portugal ... and given how similar events seem to be to our own timeline in Youko Senki, it doesn't seem that the divergence point is before the French Revolution.

If the above is true ... well, isn't a tad idiotic that the not-Germany High command had such a failure of imagination as to assume that the not-France government would just stay in place and let itself be captured ? :/

In the LN the French immediately asked for an armistice and declared Paris an open city. All the German high command relaxed and faffed about thinking they won. Tanya got a radio report of activity in Brest and tried to organize an attack but was ordered to stand down to not break the Armistice.

@rrolo1 Depends. If Youjo Senki had a not-war-of-1870, then it is possible. After the defeat of the French Army and the siege of Paris, the governement collapsed. The bourgeois that fled to Bordeaux declared the Third Republic and sued for peace, and the workers of Paris created the commune. So if the not-german high command thought this was a repeat, they could believe that the country just collapsed, with only the remnant of the army and/or a milicia available to defend the capital, without thinking of a flight to the colonies

I really don't like that they are leaning way too much into the history of it now, when it clearly wasn't the case before. Feels a bit forced.
Also de gaulle didn't look chinese.
