@WillTell Pretty much. Though the novel was more detailed about this. The manga's toned-down version kinda makes her character one-dimensional and pathetic.

@willtell

I feel like doll is too much.
She’s a CHILD, even more so a loved and protected child of a pair of seemingly rich parents.
She just doing whatever is suggested because she doesn’t know how to make decisions, much less decisions to make in a whole other world.
She relies on her guardian to make her choices, as most children, especially well educated obedient children are taught to in Asian countries. In her original life, her obedience probably classed her as a good girl and is well receive, which is not a bad thing at all. She is a good girl. But when suddenly placed into a situation that requires firm and independent reasoning, she’s suddenly stuck.

Because shes a girl, not a woman, or adult like sei is.
A child doing what their supposed guardian says in normal. although do admit Aira is a little on the excessive side when it comes to her obedience, but that’s because she has no independence.

Yea who would have thought that a run of the mill 16 year old girl who basically got kidnapped and transported far away from home would be able to act like an adult. Just grow up and mature in 5 minutes 4hed.

oh I called her a doll because she's broken - she knows she will never see her family again, her friends, nobody, and then she has to live in this strange unfamiliar world. So she has to depend on the prince. They're both kind of stuck, as he tries to shelter her and she will never demand anything. I just don't have any sympathy for the prince, as he's just a spoiled first prince without any situational awareness. The kingdom is doomed tbh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And you're making her to be too much a child. She might have been an obedient good girl, be she is capable enough herself as shown in the exposition page.

started out likable with her actually acting like a real person who has just been kidnapped and forced into service without any way of returning to your parents, friends or your old life but then she very quickly just becomes a brainless slave to the guy who kidnapped her... so much for her being likable.

she herself says that she can't trust anyone and relies on the prince mainly because he's the only one she knows (and his aides). With such isolation, it isn't strange for her to become dependant on him, even if she doesn't want to. She could voice more of what is happening around her yes, but I guess with the situation she'd rather just take in whatever she gets and not cause trouble, who knows what would happen if she pisses off the wrong person

In a way the fact that he ignored Sei was a boon for her. It meant her first emotions were anger instead of despair, which is a more "driving" emotion and her first desire was to get the hell out of the sphere of influence of the prince, which lead her to seek out other people and learn about her new environment on her own terms, making some real friends along the way.
Aira's pov really brings that home.

Of course the fact that Sei was an independent working woman helps too, but if her reception had been different and more welcoming, I'm not sure she would have faired as well as she did. At the very least it might have taken her longer.

...Well yeah. This is an inherent problem with summoning isekai protagonists on one-way trips and that was a pretty normal reaction to essentially getting kidnapped and never being able to see your family again.
And as a side, holy crap her parents must be feeling awful too; their daughter they couldn't pay much attention to disappeared without a trace one day. Any parent can only imagine the worst.

Aira's dependence is a problem, but not really unreasonable. People cope in different ways and hers just happens to be slightly regressing and becoming dependent on the only source of support at hand. Honestly, Sei probably should have paid her a visit much earlier on, considering how much she needs it.

The prince...is still a dipshit who deserves no sympathy or pity.

@Psychronia it is, regardless if someone or something is holding you or you are free to do whatever you want. You can't even call it a new life because you didn't grow up n that world learning all its important facets. Its fine to have past memories, but one still needs those young years to adapt and learn a lot of things even if it makes you unable to see societal wrongs and the like. I do think the girl is a more emotional person than Sei, whether its cause she is younger or that is how she is we shall see. I know I'd be pretty broken about not being able to see my family.

I think saying she’s a slave is pretty harsh...I think she’s going through extreme shock and grief. It’s easier for her to shut down than to deal with her emotions. And the prince is...incompetent...so she really has no emotional support. She really does need Sei to show up.

@Doomer she’s a normal teenager and a GIRL dumba*s.... what did you expect?? Some brainless shitty isekai mc who has brawn but absolutely brain dead that aims to be the strongest with cheat skill???.... i feel like some of you guys have forgotten how a normal human might react in a situation like this because you’ve read too many isekai that gloss over the fact that the mc can never go back to their original world.... imagine if you guys suddenly awaken in an unfamiliar house in the middle of nowhere without knowing the situation, how would you react?

@vinabomb wow that’s like every plot for badly written isekai revenge story..... let’s aim to be the strongest guys!!! (And become ultra edgy while we’re at it too!!)

@Logic well dumba*s i expected her to have human fucking emotions and reasoning. i expected her to not want to be around the man who kidnapped her and made it so it's forever impossible for her to see her family again. maybe you don't understand that, to many Stockholm syndrome female lead mangas but normal people don't like being kidnapped and they especially don't like being around their kidnapper 24/7... dumba*s

@Doomer that’s what an edgy isekai MC would do..... but let’s be honest here.....what should a normal girl who previously lived in a peaceful country do in a situation like this?? She’s a teenager not a goddamn soldier, you’re asking too much there buddy.. it’s like saying “hey i dont care what you do just make the job done, but i wont give any tips because it’s your own job”........ and also who else could she rely on? A fat evil noble? The safest possible choice she knows is the prince
