@AlmondMagnum hmm it could make sense. Here is a possibility. They sell slaves to satisfy the nobles with their hobby to kill in their hunting practice, as prostitute to satisfy their desire for sexual intimacy, they could sell them as tools to get someone in exchange. If nobles in of lower class [ the very bottom of the high society stats such a s knights and barons and even some counts could work and/or people in the bourgeoisie class that just got money and bought their title or married into a poor but prestige family] don't pay their debt, they could find a way to make them useful.

it's actually based on real life. macau is well known for using casinos for human trafficking. most casinos in asia are run by shady underground types as is and it's no deep secret that they also deal in human trafficking as well.
