just realised that you work on a good amount of stuff im reading right now. checked out your other stuff and its absolutely fantastic. thank you for your work!
@Arantir Yamaguchi-san does also have a highly developed sense of empathy. He puts good thinking into his compassion. (But some self-blindness is often to be expected despite this.)
@Simpleton I don't know if this counts as self-blindness, but if his cognitive ability is strong, it's not unusual for him to rationalize his own narrative to either maintain his image of himself or the status quo or whatever else, whether he realizes it or not
@Sollertia_ True, but "self-rationalization in favor of status quo" is what I also like to call "the dreaded manga protagonist disease"
(Meaning I get sadder when I feel that is major part of the story, so I guess I try to avoid thinking about that
@Simpleton True, but most of the time when imo those scenarios give off an obviously dumb-run-away-from-pressure kinda vibe. In this case the protag feels more intelligent, and I get the feeling that he does want to and will progress; it's just that he isn't ready for the transition atm and doesnt want to just give in and dive into his sea of emotions
What is this tsundere getting all flustered and patting himself on the back over his "great empathy" for? Satou's doing all the work (in more ways than one), he barely did anything up to that point.
