Let's say one would decide to catch up with the light novel, web novel or whatever is the final form of this story at the moment... What's the best place to go and look for a competent English translation?
I would say novel update is the best as it regroup most web novel and light novel translated into english.

She doesn't need to be overly strong.

If she is strong as an Alkey (Mio's.. lineage? Offspring?) she probably could do it.
Well, the problem now is Makoto's power is basically on par with a demigod.

At the end of the Academy arc, he literally converts mana into matter. The act of which firmly places him into godhood status, to the point where he actually attracts the attention of actual Gods.

wait a minute if the second anime is aiming for that didn't

they need to skip a lot of thing since this is following the ln where it was much different than the wn because isn't the second fight happened when there is war where she end up almost fall for that guy hero charm ?
Like i said if that's their goal they are rushing things, which i could believe.

The new residents of the demi plane already made their appearance in the anime but the manga is only mentioning them now.
=> I guess it's true when they say that the anime is rushing its pace.
The anime also left out some a lot of story details.
While somethings are skipped or rushed, but most of the plots are actually being reshuffled, probably to have specific plots as the climax of the Season.
I say this because if they had followed the plot flow same as it was in the LN/Manga, then the Climax worthy plots would fall inbetween the mid point of the Season, leaving some Slice-of-Life regular plot for the end which wouldn't have been a good ending for the Season as it would seem lackluster.

Until Makoto need to go to Limia, after the arc narrative of the academy is completely over
There is a tournament in a school for the students. Makoto's students decided to win and make Makoto's teaching more respected. They stand out, of course, but the city is attacked.
Makoto & Co save the day, then we learn that the capital of Limia is attacked too. The goddess summon Makoto to help, but he refuses. He eventually accepts to help Limia.
Makoto uses a power ranger costume to hide himself while doing so. And he will officially meet Hibiki just after.
So by how quickly the manga is going, we have another 2-3 years before this happens.

Yay.

So no, you can't just stay awake with no detrimental effects. However, that might not be the case inside the dimension. You might be able to stay awake indefinitely because of the weird properties of that place

Because of how the anime is shuffling things around, it's interesting to see where the manga is in comparison.
I know. I like the anime and their focus on the mc but I hate that we're offically past the manga since the anime cuts out anything in depth with the heros

The anime is rushing through sections, like they completely skipped Lime's full assault on the organization's base and Shiki's part of Blaine's interrogation.
I'm a little upset with some of the things missing. Some are minor, like the whole joke of Eris barking as a response to being called a dog in MCs head first time they met. Or when they returned Blaines memories to him and he remembers being taken apart. It was always the little details that separated all these generic opMC manga/anime

Its nice to see the build up to the new demi plane residents when it felt like it just kinda happened out of nowhere in the anime.
