I think this was just misdirection, he is just going over "that" phase and she saw right past it.

If anything I think it will be about Mukai if the author brings a character back or maybe the strangler we seen on the end of chapter 5 since it was a adult male wearing a suit she bump into and the case of the Detective was by stabbing.

Nah. Not a misdirection but simply that Spica is solving another case now. I believe this male character is dead.

However, I did forget about sensei since he was the strangler and get more insight about how the students felt about what he did

It is seemingly inconsistent though cause going back to chapter 1 the old guy gets pushed at night, and this is still day if just very late afternoon. I'm assuming the author just messed up that part tbh.
  1. It could've been happening during twilight, where you can expect half the sky be dark enough that it'd require illumination, while the other half is still bright enough to passs for a day.
  2. Manga lighting and the artist being inconsistent about what they draw. Like, the less shading you have to apply, the less effort you'd have to put into drawing the page.
  3. The most likely reason: that's a separate incident of Spica pushing an old guy onto the rail tracks. Damn, somebody's already made this joke

New sidekick? It feels like a filler arc. I don’t think there will be a murder case like the previous two arcs.
It's clear this was in the past. And this guy likely will see Spica pushed a bastard old man in the first chapter to dead. My guess is this guy will witness all of Spica's past crimes since the start of the series.

gasp an author who isn't handholding the reader and decided to mess around with the sequence of events. What year is this?

The teacher being seen in the last ch making it unclear if something is up or just lazy drawing, acting as a bit of a hint to now letting it come together got played out so damn smoothly, I'm really impressed. Now the next big challenge is whether this was done purely to 'be fancy' by the author or if it will actually lead to scenes getting recontextualized. Granted it's very difficult to imagine how that could happen, since Spica didn't behave in some 'odd' ways where you could imagine something behind the scenes influencing her decision making that we didn't get to see yet (and now will). It would be neat if the author can pull something like that off.

I'm still not fully sold on this manga, though, because so far it's still in this stage where it might be a lot of crazy shit being written for the sake of crazy shit, with it either running out of steam really quickly or just becoming an incoherent mess of trying to be over the top for the sake of it.

Yeah. This pretty much shows that all of the events are somewhat concurrent and not consecutive. It's a little confusing that way but nowhere near as confusing as it would be to try to tell all of this at once.

Thanks for the chapter!
It's not a Phase, mom. Welp, let's hope it is :smugnako:

I mean that might be a red flag, but teenage curiosity aside, there were whole sites/subreddits dedicated to showing vids of gruesome deaths

That said, i wouldn't wanna know as a 'normal' person but if i saw it outta context, it might be helpful if you were suddenly in like a horror movie /situation to where it's like "Oh this is def a mangled body" tho you wouldn't hopefully be near anyone capable of doing it.

Tho i wonder how many movie directors/ writers 'researched' those for 'accuracy' or so lol

Nice to see her in the donut uniform again lol, it is interesting there'd be a job ban, i mean i get it if it's like "focus on your studies" or like special exceptions like "my family owns this restaurant so helping out is technically chores and not a 'job'" but you'd think some adults would encourage teens to do after school jobs or weekend stuff versus clubs or so unless they're particularly athletic and joining the track team as a future career lol
\

Hm, he does sound 'edgy' but last panel aside the 'i'm around ppl like that' makes me wonder about his home life, that would be one reason to lash out/be bitter against the world
