Ya didn't stick the landing. I have no idea what this story was supposed to be about or say. I THOUGHT it was a tragedy up until now, but it had an ending where the aliens became humans and the two mains were re-united? Just all round bad landing for what could've been a clear arc.

All you had to do was provide closure for the two MCs, and they couldn't even get that done.
This ending seems like a "fuck you" from the author due to their story getting axed, and anyone that actually was interested were just victims caught in the crossfire.
