Quite a lot of things going on in this chapter! I don't know if it was just me, but I totally missed the fact that Ranko was surrounded by wax dolls even back in the flashback of her phone call with Leo from a few chapters ago! I suspect that was intentional, which would be an insanely clever and creative use of the fact that we can't (mostly) discern movement in manga panels; it's also really nice foreshadowing and hinting. Another interesting little detail are the scales on Ranko's arms as she puts the black suit on (playing along with her comparison to a snake).

A lot of questions also surfaced due to this chapter, though. Like why exactly are the Wax dolls on the ground and so disheveled? One hypothesis is that Ranko was trying on a few of the doll's suits to see which one would fit her best? Would make sense since they said it was a miracle that they managed to infiltrate the tower so quickly with so much going on (and back then I thought that when Ranko said "we" she wasn't including herself...) so it would be weird for her to already have a suit prepared. Then the suit itself obviously points to Kakerou itself, which would mean she's using it to pass off as a referee in order to gain access to the higher floors more easily without being noticed? Possible. I imagine that Ranko's plan is simply to 1v3 Marco and leave Usogui helpless, but she assumed that there was no way that Usogui had anything prepared for them in advance but recent developments have shown that that's obviously false.

The "50 percent chance of bearing fruit" line makes me wonder what exactly Usogui's plan is... if it were sleeping or poisonous gas then there shouldn't probably involved, right? I suppose the Rodemu!Marco theory is also possible? Although I doubt it a fair bit, since we know since the Minotaur's maze that Marco hasn't gone Rodemu mode since Kaji's casino poker game; Marco now evolved and his new form is some sort of mix between himself and Rodemu's strength? Still unclear on that. The only part that makes me think that it's a possibility that Baku forcefully tried to make Marco go Rage mode is the part where he and Marco and talking and Marco seems very nervous. Although the fact that Marco would also react in a similar way to something like gas or whatnot, and the fact that Marco standing very close to Leo and seemingly fairly relaxed make me think that the Marco Rage theory is very unlikely. Also, since Leo just got off the phone with Ranko and he knows that she's heading (presumably) to support them against Marco he wouldn't be so worried just from seeing Marco's face to the extent of even trying to stop Hyougo, since it's very likely that they could beat Marco 1v3 even if he's enraged. So I'm sticking to the "gas or bomb of some sort" hypothesis for now, although the probability that it's something else entirely is also relatively high.

Very excited! I wonder how many straight releases we're gonna get this time... Keep up the good work Team Duwang!

I'm wondering when the Private Funeral Division are sending their people in, and if they've already had.

Some part of me wonders if Ranko was sent in, but I don't think that's likely the case.

I wonder what Ranko's role even is, since I don't think she's a fighter type? That's just an assumption though, based on how the old man of the abandoned building called her the 'brain' of the two fangs. I wonder how kind of strategies will she pull out. I think the doll scene was just her killing time and trying out clothes, lol, since some of the other dolls lost their clothes. Though it would be interesting if this hinted at her being strong at fighting.

Yeah, that 50% line is very interesting... it doesn't feel like it's Rodemu here, since Baku said something like "You won't have to worry about them anymore". It made it seem like his solution didn't rely on brute force. Also his laughing makes it seem like it's a somewhat ridiculous of a strategy, or maybe overkill or unethical? If it's not gas, then I wonder if it's some other unique military weapon, seeing as they introduced that Active Denial System weapon.

I feel sory for that Chris Lee guy from Kakerou. It seems like the author created him with the sole purpose of losing battles. This is the 3th time we saw him and his 3th loss. This time, we didn't even see his fight, just the loss.

I thought Lee died against Caracal via neckbreak. It's gotta be the same guy based on hairstyle, but I guess not?

I would be more surprised if she was terrible at fighting. I think Baku is definitely an oddity when it comes to that, because I understand being fairly weak, or average, or even decent at fighting but not being able to keep up with the monsters of this series; however Baku is just TOO weak, he's weaker than Kaji, even. Why? I don't see the downside to exercising or practicing some martial art to be able to defend yourself even a little bit, especially if you're living as dangerously as Baku, so that makes me think that he might have some sort of condition that prevents him from being more than completely useless in a fight. And honestly, if she's bad at fighting then what is even the point of her being here? If she's just gonna be a strategic mastermind then they could do that over the phone? I kind of feel like it'd make more sense for her to be at least a little bit strong, seeing as how she doesn't have any weapons on or anything on her, and they didn't have time to prepare anything.

Yeah another weird military weapon is definitely possible. At this point I'm just hoping things work out for Baku, coz he's been getting his ass kicked recently kinda, lmao. But we all know that when it seems like he's losing then we're close to the part where they reveal how it was all part of his keikaku, so I'm looking forward to that.

True. About Baku, I really wonder about what's up with him, when back in the first game, he struggled to climb even one flight of stairs. It seems he has some sort of physical ailment, or perhaps he was physically inactive for a long time (coma perhaps?). It was mentioned that he 'disappeared' for awhile after losing the Leader game. But yeah, it's very weird how he doesn't even try to even dodge attacks or do anything physical to win, but that's also one of his charms as a character.

@Lithe

I thought he died too. His neck was twisted 180 degrees I believe? Does anyone know if there's even a remote chance of surviving that?
