The word used was "さとり世代" which is similar to, but not exactly the same as the millennial generation. It's basically Japanese kids born from the late 80s (when Japan's bubble burst), to the mid 2000s (right before smart phones), mostly used by older generations to describe young people who don't seem to give a shit.
