These investments ranges from marriage dowry to preparations for the marriage, from bridal training to education.

That is if they put the clause in a written contract.

Spoiler: Here's some spoilers, keep in mind this goes into end of story stuff pertaining specifically to MC+ML.

All of what's happening is a total accident, series of misunderstandings and miracle coincidences on MC's part - she sleeps through it all and even by the end the ML doesn't tell her what happened (telling her everyone moved on just fine without her) because he knows she'd try to save them from their fates and (at least in the WN translation I read) wants to keep her in the dark for as long as he can to secure her for himself.

Spoiler: As an extra aside concerning the length of the series

Just based on the raws I doubt there's going to be many if even more than one chapter(s) left as the currently released chapters basically cover the whole story told in the WN minus extras (I know nothing about the LN).
