What music d'ya listen to when reading manga?

I listen to various styles, but I've noticed that I especially enjoy reading manga with 70/80s j-pop, I find the smooth tune of it very suiting and not distractful at all. It creates an even greater feel if you're reading an older manga.

I always listen to Yousei Teikoku, but I end up tuning out the music and not paying attention to it. But I can't start reading without background music.

the reason why you feel like that is because you're not focused on reading, you're focused on the music that's playing in the background

but when you're drawing, you're more focused on that, rather than the music

why is that?

well, when you're reading, you feel more relaxed, so you don't really pay much attention to whatever you're reading/writing and instead listen to the music

but when you're drawing, you feel more focused, you concentrate on your drawing, rather than whatever music you're playing

Reading and listening to music (especially with lyrics) uses the same part of your brain so you can't do them at the same time.
But drawing uses a different part of your brain, so you can listen to music while drawing.
(source: vague memories of stuff I've heard? aka bullshit?)

Anyway, I stopped listening to music while reading manga. Because I usually listen to the same song on loop, I eventually started associating the song/s with the manga, and I did not like that.
