what was he thinking?
1) There is a half-explanation. Because they were good with Ceres, he can't see them as bad to the wives, even if they were.Maybe its just me, but I feel like the author is having to try really hard to make the core plot make sense. First the men all gave up their wives willingly, now its because they are all actually bad people. That might have been the idea from the start, but nothing hinted or foreshadowed it, and the wives are only just now saying something. In fact, the whole scene with the guy giving up his wife in a ritualistic manner where he watches Ceres do her seems completely out of place. Really feels like the plot is being written on the fly.
Also the entire premise doesn't make sense at this point. If women are considered old by the time they are 17 and basically ignored by their mid-20s because they all die at 50, why are so many women wasting their time being adventurers? Why do all the married couples seem to be the same age?
There's an old parable that I forgot the name of that addresses this kinda thing. There was a great and powerful merchant who, every night, would savagely beat his wife and children over every triviality. They lived their lives in fear and horror until the day he finally passed. The whole city gathered for the funeral to morn him and all the good he'd done for a great and benevolent man had died.God, this protag is just being dense. "No, they may have been horrificly abusive husbands, but they were nice to ME!" I hope he stops being a stooge.
cause her wish was to beat him herselfbro why bring her ex
you could have just left him there
The MC is way too soft-hearted for his own good.
He searched for young wife-slaves for them with a twist; the girls' personality and traits are antithesis to their rotten self as the best medicine, and to add splash damage targeted to his former party members, aged quite close to them to make it suuuuuuuper awkward for them when they get home.
Shizuko (and the ladies) still managed to get some hits to that shitstain Zector tho.
Now that is more than just emotional damage, that's a death sentence and public execution at the same time.Checking the raws, the second wave of splash damage isthat three of the wives look an awful lot like the three girls of the hero's party, the aim being to cause emotional damage when they get back home.
Imagine : you come back home and you see your father banging your look-alike...
I'd like to upvote you, but I can't until you learn basic grammar and punctuation.oh man your dead
So this development is non-existent in the wn?Maybe I just forgotten
But I could swear their husband was not as shitty as they were in the manga.
In the WN, they know Ceres could make their wives happier and purposely doesnt care so that Ceres doest feel bad.
Even his so called revenge later kinda backfired but will have to see how it goes for manga.
Wait till he learns her adventurer rank, the very very hard way. This is way worse than the mines.Call mc soft if you want but I’d definitely prefer debtor s prison over facing the ex wife who I sold into slavery
They do not know about their adventurer ranks, the women hid it to not intimidate the men so that they could get married and have a normal household.I forget, did the husbands know that they married superhumans? If so, that makes their decisions...quite remarkable.
