I don't think that how they work
Sure, they have some common, like the moon eyes. But they aren't linked.
Otherwise, they can't fight alone again the mid-bosses in the previous chapter.

In Caria's fight against the mid-boss, she also got attacked but seem fine afterward, meaning she can heal by herself

Actually in classic/older jrpg debuff can work in most boss, the developer just lowered the chance to get hit by it, by large numbers.
