Gonna make a prediction for next chapter: 10 pages of random people reacting to the cosplay over the internet, 8 pages of people reacting to the author reacting to the cosplay, 7 pages of people recognizing Marin and remembering her cosplays, 4 pages of Marin seeing all this unfold and squeeing at it. 1 page of Gojou in the same situation but is now on his other side.
PROGRESS
you are giving it too many pages at most 25 for all that you mention, really clear that we're gonna get some pages about how is trending on not twitter xd.

also people really hating on Marin outta the blue? wtf people the author is dragging but Marin hasn't shown anything to be agains Wakana, she even felt shocked by his reaction, probably both are feeling bad (mostly Wakana for... we still don't know because we got 18 friggin PAGES of some people reacting, again only good part is how the author reacted 👌, but we didn't need that many pages of the other)

Idk I think this is a good chapter, though lacking Gojou and Marin, but shows the effect of their work.

Anyway this is clearly a manga about cosplay with a romcom element, not a romcom with cosplay element.
Part of the problem may be that this is being mislabeled. I think a large number of people got into this thinking it WAS primarily a Romcom. I started reading after season 1 of the anime and that's what I initially thought it was.

There hasn't been much focused on the "Romance" tag this manga has recently and it's been a LONG time since it has played to the "Comedy" tag. This has pretty much been a "Drama" for most of the run.

Looks like we're finally done with the cosplay part and getting to what ails Gojo.

  • Is he experiencing imposter syndrome next to his incredibly beautiful muse?
  • Is he just absolutely burnt out of his mind after obsessively working on this cosplay?
  • Did he find himself in love with Marin/her in Haniel cosplay and felt jealousy or possessiveness when other people were enraptured by her?
  • Did he think this was his magnum opus and it's all downhill from there?
  • Is he worried about Marin leaving him since she's garnered this much attention?
Yes.

You keep going on and on and on about the importance and magnitude of these chapters when the fact of the matter is that the entire reason we give a shit about this is because of Marin and Gojo.
The reason people care about this manga is because of Marin and Gojo, the people high up in the ladder recognizing their skills only matters because of how it will affect their relationship going forward. These two are the heart of the manga, without them there's no reason to care about any of this, and because their relationship has been out of focus for the last 2 arcs, we don't.
You don't need to sideline their relationship in order to set up big events that will happen later on in the story, ESPECIALLY if you're gonna end it on a rift between the two that we don't even have a proper explanation for, people have been proposing from Impostor Syndrome to Jealousy to "... So What Now?" Because we don't know yet.
Instead we are once again on this pretentious and self-indulgent wankfest about how the cosplay is "so good and awesome and epic and look it caused mass psychosis" that only erodes more and more my suspension of disbelief.
All this shit being set up is important, and logically we should be invested, but when Gojo and Marin's relationship -the heart of this manga, the reason we got invested and the reason we still care- gets sidelined over and over and over then we have no reason to, for all we know the next two chapters are gonna keep up with the Haniel jelqing and the third one is gonna focus on the side characters explaining some mumbo jumbo about cosplaying before we even get anything close to a resolution.

As one who already read since the beginning and never saw the anime, it was clear from the start that this series takes romance things as complimentary to characters, which main intentions of the series is all about cosplay.
Lmao I don't believe this claim at all.
I've been reading this since Juju's arc and never watched the anime either, and to me this series started as a bog standard romcom where the cosplay felt like an excuse for Marin fanservice, made all the more obvious by her very porny tastes in characters to dress up as and the second arc adding a loli AND big booba character at the same time.

yeah bro you really get something we don't, everyone here is stupid except you, this manga was created exclusively for you to enjoy the deep plot and characters
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand My Dress-up Darling. The characterization is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the human psyque, most of the developments will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Gojo's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his cosplays- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these cosplays, to realize that they're not just beautiful- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike My Dress-up Darling truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Gojo's existencial catchphrase "It's cosplaying time" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Shinichi Fukuda's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Marin tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

What's Imposter Syndrome?
I don't know if anyone answered you but this is impostor syndrome: People who struggle with imposter syndrome believe that they are undeserving of their achievements and the high esteem in which they are, in fact, generally held. They feel that they aren’t as competent or intelligent as others might think—and that soon enough, people will discover the truth about them.

Damn I'm so over this haniel arc 😭 idk it feels so dragged out we've had multiple chapters in multiple months just people praising her beauty and her in-character mannerism ... Only few even recognized the craft gojo put on those costumes. This may be the designer in me but I'm kinda pissed that people barely acknowledge that the perfection they're praising about also comes with those costumes. If the costumes were ugly I doubt this much people would even give her attention. Idk i hope this would be over can we move on to something more substantial? Can we stop seeing new faces idc much about and actually put attention to the main casts? My man is going through some shit rn (impostor syndrome probably idk)

No idea who's hating on Marin. And if so, it's kinda dumb since she did nothing wrong except not know how to end a shoot and caused a chapter to drag lmao jk.

So many of you have no experience of being recognised as an artist and it really shows.
Their hard work and talent has finally been given recognition, not just from anonymous weirdos but from the one person they would want praise from the most. Just imagining that kind of recognition is a rush. This is potentially the biggest turning-point of the story so far, not to mention the height of dramatic tension. Pearls before swine.
Who cares? The manga never established widespread recognition as a motive for the main characters! Only reason the old fucker author was even shown is to set up an arc of more cosplay for more old fuckers to ogle. I, for one, DO NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT and I doubt I'm alone in this. If this bullshit is what you consider "pearls" wasted on "swine", I suggest you work on your reading and your ego, which you don't come close to justifying

I'm gonna go further: the author started with a romcom specifically to get people reading it; would you invest in a series about the ins and outs of cosplay unless you were already into this niche hobby?
It was a classic bait and switch, and usually we don't like to fall for those
