So... Let's guess : brother gets killed by his chimera or falling buildings because of his own action.
But not after protag tries to forgive him and brother refuse.
And protag is then sad and all "how did it come to this ?"
(Hopefully not, but given everything so far...)

Father, I craze violence.

I feel like these over the top villains are such a fine line to walk. If you have them behave so nonsensically and clearly with devious intent that is a risk to the integrity of the kingdom you need to have the world acknowledge it. If it stays small scale or personal so not too many people witness it then it's way more manageable. As soon as they're out in the world invading cities and clearly setting up power grabs it then becomes weird for the King, Ministers, other nobility and even average citizens to pretend that guy isn't unhinged.

Even if it's behind closed doors or something. How this brother gets dealt with by naive MC is less an issue for me, he's already been mild as milk with him so I doubt he'll change his approach unless his brother really hurts or kills someone close to him. Which could be fine as long as others in the world, maybe the princess who rejected him or some other minister or their father acknowledges what he's done and punishes him.

I'm not holding my breath though, this seems more to be MC is well meaning, tame and just OP enough to never be in trouble or have to make a hard choice.
