Hot take, but I like "X-Gender" better than "nonbinary". Nonbinary sounds like something a computer would identify as.
Series like this piss them off like nothing else ever does because it blows two massive holes in the lies they repeatedly canvas to intimidate people out of discourse.I like these types of series cause it brings out the phobes out from their holes to get banned.
Guys, hear me out...
Well...Consider this...
You have only two braincells.
If you want an audience for your bullshit, try Twitter.Well...
Ranma 1/2's success back in the day says otherwise. So does Onimai's marketing.Well...
It's better than changing genders every week.
I honestly think that was meant to show his curiosity towards something he is experiencing first time in his life, it has been clearly shown that he hasn't come across anything like this before, for him, his environment has always revolved around men and women, so for him, it might not be weird to ask such a question because the other party will obviously answer from one of the two options (Male or female) but in this case, he simply isn't aware neither he is sure about what it is supposed to be, so he simply just asks it directly as he hopes for a general direct answer, he isn't aware of how personal it can be,Quite rude of him to ask them such a personal question just after meeting. Hope its not indicative of what to come from this mangaView attachment 18840.
You see it on every series that mentions a specific LGBTQ related term instead of a fetish one, Funny they would open this one with X-Gender literally in the title.Series like this piss them off like nothing else ever does because it blows two massive holes in the lies they repeatedly canvas to intimidate people out of discourse.
1. "There is no intersection between gender transgressive works (i.e. genderswap, femboi/crossdressing, etc.) and transgender interests. All gender subversive works exist to get me off and have no further use or artistic purpose beyond that"
2. "The transgender brain disease hasn't reached Japan! They're pure and shame us foreigners who are losing control of our culture" (see my earlier post in this thread about why this particular nugget is easily proven wrong even without the existence of manga like this one)
Drippy massages her eyebrows. “So, then...wait. What did you start with?”
This question catches [Aster] fully off guard: it’s the rudest of the night by a nautical mile. “C’mon, don’t make fun of me...!”
“I’m not making fun of you, though?” Her face is innocent.
Their own expression softens. “Isn’t it...obvious?”
“Uh, not really.” She shakes her head vehemently.
“Kind of not at all, yeah, now that I think of it,” says Sandy. “You’re really splitting this thing down the middle.”
“I mean,” Drippy continues, “I kinda figured you were, like...you know...but then...but if it’s like that, then maybe...is it the other way around...?” She’s gesticulating like someone trying to tie their index finger into a knot.
Aster touches their lips. They’re curling. They’re curling into a silly grin, all on their own.
“Look,” says Sandy, “I’ve never been one to quibble over the fine print. Did I think you were a girl-shaped boything? Sure. Did I think you were a boy-shaped girlthing? Also yes. And so basically, the point is, you know, let’s party. Q.E.D., baby. You feel me?”
Awestruck, Aster says, “You don’t know.”
They say it again, just because they can. “You don’t...know.”
“Well, what is it?” Drippy insists.
But Aster brushes her off.
They prop their head up in their hands, smiling like the most satisfied fucker in the whole world, and they say: “Golly — at this point, even I can’t remember what I started with. Isn’t that just crazy?”
“And there’s the trick,” echoes Selené’s voice, and a proud little golf clap emanates from the kitchen.
Hear me out...Guys, hear me out...
There are only two genders
Well, X-gender is a specific subtype. There are more terms there. I don't remember them, because I had no opportunity to learn more with certainty in accuracy.X-gender as a term has been around in Japan since at least the 1990's, first catching on in the Kansai region.
Why are there so many weebs who think like that? It's more progressive than the USA! Laws need to catch up, but the generational divide on things is SHARP.If you think this is brand new and that Japan has been "sullied" by gender politics, you're either too young to know better or you were deluded into thinking Japan was a monolithic conservative paradise and just got a harsh overdue wake-up call.
😬 Me don't likely that word. While we're at it, maybe we could discuss classic o***a culture?
I ran a Mana webring for a minute right around when people stopped using webring.Or visual kei pop stars? (and how one named Mana helped popularize gothic lolita fashion)
Well, he says he's a mix of the two ends of the spectrum so this is kind of... not... relevant to this manga..... nah, let's stay on topic.
Hot take, but I like "X-Gender" better than "nonbinary". Nonbinary sounds like something a computer would identify as. X-Gender just inherently sounds badass, as almost anything starting with "X" does. It also doesn't center the concept of binary gender identity as something one has to be considered an exception from.
This manga rules. If the manga is this informed about the whole concept I'm going to show a lot more hope for it than others in this thread.
In fact, I'll even bet the protagonist is the one who winds up exploring his gender identity a bit more. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone live their personal truth to make you realize examining your sense of self was even an option.
Japan is cool using physical indicators,
compared to the West using ideological indicators.
and yes LGBT and xgender completely different
there is cute x gender, such as Luca in kanata no astra
or mangaka Watase yuu
