Yeah maybe don't drop this until next chapter, even if you're rabidly anti-slavery - their reaction seems like MC might've just casually admitted her intent to commit a capital crime.

Me personally, I'm considering dropping, but that's because of how fucking random things are.

Whose prison system? Prison conditions and sentences vary all over the world. But this sounds like a damning indictment of your prison system, not some exoneration of slavery.

...this is also bad.
does your prison system let your prisoners walk around the public, having a wage for work, and sometimes being able to stay with family or loved ones all together? so yea I say that slavery in manga are SOMETIMES ALOT BETTER then IRL prisoners who are just sitting in prison for 10+years or waiting to die

saw the raw chapters and
MC finally has seggs with another girl BUT the problem for me is that they pull the same fucking joke aka he was drunk and doesn't remember so the other person has to tell us the details.......
It was funny the first time but if its going to be like that for every encounter than man what an annoyance

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
why tf does she have to buy people.
Just freaking hire servants.
The money should go to them, not the slavers.
She mentions her main reason last chapter. The primary reason she wants to buy a female slave is to have them wear socks. Then she can take their used socks and turn them in to the Goddess for Sock Points on a regular basis.

Basically, she plans to start Sock Farming, using slaves. Is it still fucked up? Yes. However, (fairly mild spoilers)
the story does A LOT of work to justify it being "okay". Basically, the slave she wants to buy is totally miserable, and Karina is the only one who could ever save her.

I find it funny how many people are against slavery in the comments lmao half of those slaves in series gets a better life then people in our prison system IRL lmao idk why people are complaining, most of the time the slave system is a joke, its literally just used as a cheat shortcut for MC to get a companion for their journey without the author actually having to do alot of work of lets say creating a actual new char that eventually becomes mc's friend and joins them aka its lazy writing in some sense
Slavery is distasteful for me, no matter if it's because of lazy writing. It's especially the case when it's literally children being trafficked because that's such a harmful thing for them. I don't like if it's handwaved away.

Also I do, in fact, think that bad prison systems IRL are also bad. I dislike both, so that's why I was complaining.

Having read the novel for this...
slavery is actually illegal here, and Karina accidentally drops enough clues that the authorities find the slave trader and take out his business (but he himself escapes). Karina winds up pissed at the authorities because they got to him before she did because the guy stiffed her on her purchase and she wanted to take him out personally. She later gets her wish (sort of) because the slave trader gets outsmarted by an orc.

You gota remember alot of the MC's in series are also children so its like children buying other children and sometimes adults to make for traveling companions, also there are some series that actually talk about how problematic the slave system is so I just find it dumb because like you only got so many options for people, either they are slaves or they get the execution route? that is what happens in fantasy land, there's usually No such thing as a prison system like we have in our world, hence I feel like the complaint about slavery is like such a waste of your emotions/mind idk what you wana call it

but yea I don't think its distasteful because I know that its just lazy writing in the end and instead that to me is more of a TYPICAL thing for me like the airhead echi genre or when a girl/monster turns into a loli, If I got annoyed with almost every little thing in manga that bothers me then I probably wouldn't read manga at all

my worst type of manga is when shit doesn't make sense

ohhhhhhhhhh so that is what happens, thx for the info, I sorta understood but I thought
instead of it being illegal they where just trying to persuade her not to get it because one of the friends fell in love with a slave and she stole all his shit and ran way

I remember that now that you're mentioning it.
I think maybe it was illegal in the sense that marijuana is illegal in the US right now. Enforcement varies highly depending where you are, and it's kind of an open secret when people do it.

Duplicating items to sell? Bad

Buying human beings? A-OK, apparently.

Sorry, that's my bad. I make it a point not to converse with pre-teens. I didn't realize until just now that that's what you were.

To be fair, at the end of the first light novel the MC actually has an encounter that isn't drunk and does remember everything after pretty much going all in. Also, later on developing a logical counter technique using space time magic to stop repeatedly getting black out drunk. Though it still happens from time to time.

BRUH we are going to have to wait that long for him to remember 1 encounter and then develop a counter to is OTL legit feelsbadman, can't he just make it so he's immune to like being alcohol like how some MC's can never get poisoned which alcohol is also included in it so they never get drunk

either way thx for the info
