It's not about social roles. Her life started going to shit when she found out she couldn't get pregnant. She knew her husband wanted very much to have kids, so she felt she had no purpose being married to him if she couldn't get pregnant. She started losing self-esteem and eventually forgot what she wanted for herself. The montage of her doing housework over and over, seeing societal roles she can’t fit everywhere she looks, aholes at work… in contrast to the cut to her being served a cup of warm milk.
Exactly. Unlike most series, she wasn't looking to be a "strong independent woman" or "girl boss" her way through life but getting shut down by her husband or something - she simply felt lost and decided that raising a family and being a home maker was a good option for her - she was even enjoying her life up until the hospital visit shattered that reality for her - and then she had nothing, and no path forward (as shown by her looking down an empty road). It's not about social roles. I disagree. Prior to marriage she tried to have a career but nobody would take her seriously and she was stuck in the same tea serving loop that only seemed to have an exit towards marriage. Where she’d at least have a respectable role doing similar in serving one guy the rest of her life with all the stability perks that come with it. So she thought until she couldn’t fit the role anymore. It's not about social roles. Her life started going to shit when she found out she couldn't get pregnant. Japan isn’t very high on the list of countries where people adopt a child outside of blood family. It’s extremely rare. A kid tends to either be sent to relatives or to state housing/fostering until aging out. So they are being entirely normal in not adopting. (Surprising fact is adult adoptions are in the high 90% of all adoptions.)what about... adoption ?
I think author plan to make both the girl and her husband to be in better light after the truth reveal, which it is... i guess ? but honestly, this drama come off as hella funny if you think about it a bit. "Oh no... i am just a deadweight now, I have to leave" just to be a worse deadweight![]()
