Firmly disagree, the writer is a fair person. The last guy was even offered a literal raft out of living under the bridge away from his responsibilities but he decided to push everyone away at the end. Basically at the end everyone lived with their decisions then and as punishment he lost his family due to his shame more than anything. Need to remember that the story took place in Japan so while he was an incredibly unethical character, he still was acting within the law there. Hell as a result of his actions his daughter went to juvie for attempted murder in the weirdest eyes wide shut type scene ever, heh a literal climax of the story.

This one actually asked someone out when he was like literal 0 before, he's no opportunist either, the MC is gonna fess up to her in the most absurd confession ever and it overflows to rizz. Look at the chapter titles, they're all contrasts but also possibly our cast's feelings towards each other. Chapter 1 gives away that its first the guy then girl's thoughts. This is a modern coming of age love story told as a thriller, everything about it plainly is. The key point is the anxiety he has, which is the main antagonist and the guilt which is deserved as a secondary antagonist. Her side is having the weirdest fucking sexual awakening in existence. It may just play out with him running out crying over the pads he cranked over (technically not illegal there) and her trying to frustratedly bring him back or rapid firing plans. If anything, theres a predator-prey vibe going on here, similar in a dominatrix-sub type of thing going on here. She lays down traps (the camera, likely then the first date, then here throughout the second date), he stupidly wanders into most of them, and now he's about to go into her den to get eaten (japanese_man_running_in_tunnel_screaming_sex.mp4).

This is weird advice to give someone, but when I was in my undergrad, I deadass just walked up to girls on the street and asked them out. Mostly rejections, but for the most part they were flattered that someone showed interest in them. You just need to be polite about it.

It's harrassment when there's a power dynamic that makes it hard for her to say no or you're making it really uncomfortable for her by doing things like cornering her or using sexually aggressive language. Politely asking out a single peer who you are allowed to be romantically involved with and then never mentioning it again if she says no really isn't harassment.

Asking a guy out could also lead to social ridicule but that's just part of the putting yourself out there that you have to do to date. (I'm also a chicken so I'm sympathetic here).

i never did any weird shit like steal someone's pads but I'm this socially anxious and a year of doomscrolling through stuff from the first few pages ruined my mental health a few years ago, so this manga makes me feel heard. even though it's all comedy at the end of the day.

I can't tell if this manga is supposed to be portraying the MC as deluded or if the incel manifesto presented every chapter is supposed to be taken at face value. I'm giving the author the benefit of the doubt that this is all set up to show the MC as a pathetic loser and not validate stealing period pads but with manga authors it can be hard to tell.
