In fairness though, have you never tried to make up a game with cards as a kid? Card games are very easy to come up with, good ones a little less so but still pretty good. And she did mention that she "forgot to teach her how to play," meaning she does have at least one game in mind already, just failed to tell about it.

She said she based them on the Tarot didn't she? Exactly the same way our modern standard decks evolved from the lesser Arcana. Solid base to build off of but she didn't think far enough ahead to put a card explaining the rules in each pack.

Still, it never makes sense to me when isekais have these quirks, like bad food or no entertainment. In this case, people just dismiss toys as stuff for kids, so clearly kids play with toys, and those kids grow up, so the concept of having fun is there, but do they just stick to drinking, theatre, and brothels etc. for fun when they become adults? If a world has existed for a while, the people have simple entertainment tools, like we have cards and dice, so they wouldn't just dismiss it as "toys are for kids."
