theory in the previous chapter: she is being set up. The jealous guild girl gave him false info. The MC was searching herbs in a cliff he'd have fallen to his death without an angel. This time people in the very guild followed him to kill him. So someone inside the guild is keeping the tabs on her to screw her over. Which makes sense since she is liked by the guild master(?).
The moment he is gone the affection drops. Either by a curse or because the jealous guild girl keeps nailing in her head she is killing everyone.
Now, for what the MC did: whoever gets paid to kill has to report. After a job is reported, this means another adventurer she sent out died. Her affection drops to zero. But the MC faked his own death. What happens if a depressed girl sees the guy that relied on her survived all along? Looks like an increase from 0 to nearly 100
