Based on the Web Novel, he is still married but somehow wanted to have relationship with MC's Mother as well, and surprisingly his Wife knew about it and scolded him for trying something like that.
So, instead he later decides to get his daughter married to MC instead to become MC's Father-in-law instead of Step-Father.

Though the daughter does ends up eventually asking her Father on why she didn't know about MC when he was young eventhough both her Father & Mother knew about MC and his Mother for many years.

Turns out, Police Officer and his Wife knew that their daughter was a Shotacon fan based on her collection of stuff. So they decided to keep stuff about MC a secret from her to protect him until now, because they didn't clearly knew kind-off Shotacon she was, aka., whether just a hobby type or something more.

Also, while Police Officer want to get his daughter married to MC, he also says to her that she would have to wait for 3-4 years before that.
But that makes her just unhappy, as MC fits her taste and demands that if she is going to be his Fiancee, then she should be allowed to get dirty with him immediately.

I'd say is an alright read, is more comedy than action, doesn't really take itself too serious and you can see the author is having fun while writing it because of how dumb it sometimes is, but it have alot of chapters

So in the novel the order of things seems to be flipped as Mc got brought in before his fight with the spiritualist girl.

Also the weird thing is the officer and Mc have a very good relationship and Mc knows that the officer is in love with his mom, heck even the officer's wife knows this an approves of this as she herself is a huge fan of Mc's mom.

When Mc tells the officer how he got his powers he first denied it then actually believed it counting that apparently isekai stories are loosely based on these actual events.

Officers daughter didn't get pointed out to be the officers daughter but she did get a demon sword (mc has a ton of them and doesn't really care about them.).

Also Mc's mom had spiritualist issues when she was younger but it was one of those "she never knew about it" things and the officers actually helped her during this time to stop the bad stuff (dudes actually a really good guy).

Anzu is going to be introduced at some point and it never made sense why they built her up as bad, then revealed she was just being manipulated through magic... also, jack and Nancy are top tier additions to the cast. 10/10 friendship with yura
