So the ice cream thing earlier, both mother and daughter seem to be obsessed with the dead husband/father and tell him "soon (TM)". There's also all the bits where they talk about how the daughter looks just like her father.

The mother is glad her child was born a girl. Supposedly, the mother's weak constitution means she's unlikely to have another baby, which leads to the daughter telling MC she still has herself (to have a baby through).

We know mother and daughter are working together. Daughter mentioned MC looked so happy "last night" during ice cream scene (referencing sex), and mother pretended not to know, just suspected, she may have been caught while talking with MC's sister.

Pretty sure their plan is to rebirth the dead husband/father through baby with MC and daughter, hoping baby son will inherit the dead father's appearance given how alike the daughter looks to her father.

I think the cut is more about removing the face, ie. A different unknown baby, implying the unborn child. Mostly because the dead cicada and the words about things going back to the way they used to be is meant to be grim irony. The changing of seasons, death, moulting (could be a cicada moult, idk), whatever it may be, they all suggest something has irrevocably changed contrary to the sister's wish.

It's getting weird shit, at first maybe you can guess what touko intention and it's always has been. But when it comes to Miyako, the variable is so random, more you read the chapter. First variable, she got pregnant on young age. Second, she searching some candidate to be closed and made the man took initiation.

If both of them have different intention, then it can be easier to guess. But if both of them the same.... Imagine 2 yandere working together 😂

All we can agree is both of them got strong yandere genes 😂
