I get what you're saying and agree to a point. However, it's not that deep. The sex isn't a transaction, but a release, a relief, and possibly a boost of confidence. It also got her to relax a bit more around him, so she can really go into the root of the problem (bratty boy).

After indulging in this hedonism, it probably gave her just enough confidence to not put up with bratty's shit. Just think of the MC as a wondering samurai that solves people's problems with his sword. Which happens to be his penis. The most effective way to solve people's problems? Probably not. Still works, though.

Honestly, after reading some of the novel, I'd wish this was all the series was. I normally don't mind world building and depth, but it is completely out of place, depressing, and weird here. I'm really wishing this one time they get creative and selective in the adaptation. Like that porter one.
