I'd recommend the novel, the manga leaves out a lot. While all the human garbage in the first few books some of the side stuff is actually interesting, like Oni's whole backstory.

Existing. Anything naturally born in that world and using the power-up system in place is actively killing the Goddess of that world. She linked the life of the planet to her own life to keep it alive, and the Demon King (Divine Spider Enforcer of the Goddess) plans to exterminate everything so the Goddess can save herself.

The demons are born from humans who were enhanced by the planet's life force (I forget the exact wording), which is why their stats are higher than humans. Humans used the planet's life force as fuel, leading to the world ending, even that the Angel, not Goddess, sacrificed herself to stop with the aid of D. All of which, except for D's intervention, is the result of Potimas.

Maybe it’s because this is the first LitRPG / formal isekai I’ve read, but I actually really liked the human parts of the story.

I see, still, using that word just feels weird, as a person who only speaks and reads in English. “Aggressiveness” probably would’ve been better.
