you're pretty good.Yeah it's pretty good.
you're pretty good.Yeah it's pretty good.
I mean, the ones I've played rarely offer options to choose from, and those options don't seem to have much impact. Also, there's only one girl to go forWhat do you mean by 'choices with consequences'? Like, you just asked for what most visual novels consist of.
All right, I'll give it a try.Yeah it's pretty good.
I don't know dood. It's kinda hard to recommend visual novels since a lot of great ones either never come to Steam or are censored to meet the standards (though usually there's a outside patch to fix these, mind you).I mean, the ones I've played rarely offer options to choose from, and those options don't seem to have much impact. Thank you very much! I bookmarked your comment 🙏I don't know dood. It's kinda hard to recommend visual novels since a lot of great ones either never come to Steam or are censored to meet the standards (though usually there's a outside patch to fix these, mind you).
Here's a little list of more safer options from Key that are all on Steam:
And here's some other titles too:*
- Key's Works:
- CLANNAD
- Little Busters
- Rewrite (it's more on the action side, but you still pick the heroines. Though their a proper route order you should go down)
- Summer Pockets REFLECTION BLUE (I haven't actually played this one yet but it's probably good too since it's Key.)
*Most of these need patches for the full quality
- Majikoi (More of a comedy but you do pick heroines. Also has a sequel and a bunch of fandisc that have exclusive routes not on Steam)
- Mashiroiro Symphony HD -Love is Pure White- (I haven't actually read this one myself, but my visual novel friend swears up and down this is one of the best so I'll recommend it to you)
- The Fruit of Grisaia (Also has a sequel on Steam)
I enjoyed the Clannad VN as well. It's been quite a while since I played it, but I remember laughing hard in the early game and moved in the later parts.@BakedBanana You recommended Clannad. Has it aged well? It's a bit pricey on Steam right now, but if you say it's really good, I'll buy it
Actually from the game btw:Little Busters scene:
Context: Kud is looking for a roommate in the dorm and is asking you for a suggestion on who'd be willing to be her roommate.
Wafuuu~~🐶
Why meguuusad, @BakedBanana?Thank you very much! I bookmarked your comment 🙏
I actually haven't played Rewrite (but I did immediately recognize it). To be honest, I haven't really played a lot of VNs, but I'm happy I played the ones I did.
What’s your answer, Panda-san? And why the disappointment? Did you expect us to have a crazy Friday?I have to say I am rather disappointed at the responses thus far today.![]()
It's pretty good but it does tone down the emotion factor compared to Key's other visual novels (Clannad and Little Busters), it still has it's moments of course. Especially with the MC himself, Tennouji Kotarou. His journey through all the routes was interesting.I actually haven't played Rewrite (but I did immediately recognize it). I haven't played it either so I can't give any comments. On a more stranger note (not particularly directed at BakedBanana): School Days was an interesting experience. Obviously NSFW, but I remember playing it way back because it was unique (at the time) in how the story plays like an anime. It has different "episodes" (which all change depending on the choices) with an OP and ED at the start and end of each episode. A very complicated decision tree and of course it's infamous for the deadly bad ends. Very impressive for the time it came out (I'm not familiar enough with the VN scene to know how it holds up now).
I'm not sure if I should recommend playing it fully (it's also not on steam), but I think it's worth checking out what they did with the format if you're into VNs.
Sorry for not being a party panda I guessI have to say I am rather disappointed at the responses thus far today.![]()

Pizza and baseball is a good agenda for me, personally. But it's not so much the responses to the question as the lack of scrutiny of the question itself....Sorry for not being a party panda I guess![]()
Huh?But it's not so much the responses to the question as the lack of scrutiny of the question itself....
Have you watched the anime of Rewrite? If so, how does it hold up compared to the VN?It's pretty good but it does tone down the emotion factor compared to Key's other visual novels (Clannad and Little Busters), it still has it's moments of course. Outside “Evicting the siblings?” I don’t see anything unusualHuh?
*goes back and looks at the question/s*
...Goddammit.
I have not. But I did hear the second season (which follows the Moon and Terra route) was much more faithful.Have you watched the anime of Rewrite? If so, how does it hold up compared to the VN?
I remember reading that season one kinda did its own thing with original content instead of following the routes perfectly, so if you didn't like the anime you shouldn't be discouraged from reading the visual novel.I remember starting with the anime when it came out (it's prob still in my archive), but I couldn't really get into it, so I never finished it. That's why I also never got excited enough to start the VN.
I honestly thought both the anime and visual novel were good. Though I'll admit the anime was much more fast paced, causing some scenes that I loved in the visual novel to not hit as hard in anime form. Still great though. The Little Busters! EX anime adaption on the other hand was eh. Way too rushed with each heroine getting like 1 - 2 episodes each. I would probably like it even less if I watched it without reading the visual novel. To be fair, if I saw the Little Busters anime before playing the VN, I probably wouldn't have bothered with the VN either. So I understand it shouldn't hold too much weight either way.
Word of the day is: AcrosticOutside “Evicting the siblings?” I don’t see anything unusual![]()
wait...This came to me in a vision, so here's your question for Friday fairly early:
Considering it's Friday -
And that means Friday night -
Kicking back is the thing to do.
Explain your ideal Friday night in.
Ordering food for delivery?
Reading some manga?
Playing video games?
Inviting a few friends over?
Evicting the siblings?
?
Let us know your perfect 'lazy stay-at-home' plans for an evening in.
