This is chapter #219, o brother mine. We've had some twenty five chapters devoted exclusively to Chita and Tokio. If this is what it takes for character growth to start, how many chapters would be needed for anything of substance to actually finally fucking happen?

I mean - there's an argument that just saying "well these other couples are like this, so every couple will be like this" isn't all that grounded, and even the other two couples are markedly different in how they interact and "depict".
There's every chance Chiita & Tokio end up romantically involved too, because this is a Japanese romcom and as much as I may wish, not every author is gonna be bold and go against the grain. But using Couple 1 and Couple 2 as the entire justification for that, isn't really logically sound.

Chiita and Tokio are their own people, so they are the ones readers should look at in determining how their arc will play out.

This author has a problem he loves to play with the reader's feelings. He did it with the other two couples too, and this one took the longest to develop. He went from saying she was going to travel the world to finally showing mature feelings. What would it have cost him to do it sooner? Now I don't care anymore, she always gets in the way of other people's romantic moments with her childish jealousy.
