For a split second I thought he was legit the father like some damn plot twistTRANSLATION NOTE: Okaya calls Taiichirou "dad" bwcause that's how they talk in japan. When a person has a close friend and visits their house, i have seen them call tge friend's parents mom and dad (okaa-san/ otoo-san). This implies that Okaya and Nagare were close enough when they were kids that Okaya used to call Nagare's dad, dad. I hope my point came trough. I just want to clear some misunderstandings before they happen.

A quick fix that could help people get the point is to just have him say "Dad" in quotation marks. It would show his somewhat sarcastic tone more in the viewer's face.TRANSLATION NOTE: Okaya calls Taiichirou "dad" bwcause that's how they talk in japan. Because in Chinese it would be the same word for paternal uncle which is also the same word for "mister"
He does in fact use お父さんotousan is お父さん which contains the kanji for father, it's not 叔叔. Polite way of addressing your own or someone else's dad or someone who is a father figure to you too. Not really used for referring to your own dad though. Would be interested in seeing the raw to see what he actually said though.

Guess he did't have anything worth knowing after all. Should have gone with the broken fingers.Eyeball bobbing in the ocean
That is a good one. I will keep it in mind if there are moments like this from now on.A quick fix that could help people get the point is to just have him say "Dad" in quotation marks. It would show his somewhat sarcastic tone more in the viewer's face.
叔叔 is not a japanese word. 叔 does exist in japanese, but it is used in archaic words for uncle or aunt. 父 (chichi) mwans father. It is used when talking ABOUT your father. However, when you talk TO your father, you use お父さん (otoosan). Otoosan is also used when you are talking about the father of the listener.otousan is お父さん which contains the kanji for father, it's not 叔叔. It is the exception. From what i have seen, you have to either be very close friend or the spouce of the person, to be calling their parents mom and dad (okaasan, otoosan). The norm is calling them by their last name. The idea is that you are basically like a child to them.Is it really the same word used for your own mom and dad?

That chapter is suggestive enough with the whole shizuka and taiichirou conversation. I wanted to use pops but it was too casualEasy solution:
Split the difference, just have Okaya call Taiichirou "Daddy".
