Unless it can make it transform into an AA turret, no amount of magic is going to help here. It was designed to be used against stationary targets and can be quite accurate if you know what you're doing, but it can't handle moving ones, much less airborne.

Even in ww2, AA aren't even that good at actually shooting down prop planes of that era (until allies developed proximity fuse by the end of the war.) These guys are up against basically a jet plane with some roman era's tech

I imagine they have some choice words for the prince who led them into a crushing defeat. Their supposed "counter" to Allen's machines are useless, so the kingdom is completely at the mercy of Allen and the Ramsletts. There's absolutely nothing stopping them from bombing the capital into oblivion.
