one thing (among others) that hit me is that, other than the first few chapters and during the registration, nobody seems to be even trying to pry into more information about where he is from when he keeps saying "my country", "my hometown". Surely he wouldn't just outright say "Japan" but no one is trying to make sense of not only names but also "where" or what possible continent to say the least, even though he keeps displaying more and more might and technology and tries to shrug it off as advancements from his birthplace.

This is one of the most frustrating manga because it remains frustrating no matter what kind of genre it puts it’s fingers in, but also STOP PUTTING FINGERS IN.
Legit the nature of magic, or the conspiracy of a town, or the structure of a town, or the responsibilities of governance: HOLY FUCK just commit and explore. It’s so frustrating to read because things linking together don’t actually make sense, and yet I’m supposed to care.

Everyone in this town is insufferable, the amount of bureaucracy and nosy people is insane
