Yeah, the more I read about the Sun Castle the less sense it makes.
The system was blocked by the previous angels owner but somehow when it came near MC village it was able to transmit and for some reason the devil leader decided to start a war instead of asking for help.
They were stuck up there for 5 centuries and never somehow were able to communicate with someone below, I presume the Sun Castle control crystal had that function forced in and anyone could appear in the stream, and the devil wasted it on waging a war he had no way to fight in the first place.
The devils were able to get on the castle with supplied but nothing to come down, even slowly, nor were able to think of one for that long.
Someone got a incredibly precise prediction of the future, but still lost the castle.
they were stuck in the castle for that long, and no one every noticed the secret passage, tried to take the vase to use it and the only one that came close was a little girl that kept it a secret to keep a monster as a pet.

Also, the jail was secret, technically, but the pillar with the contraption was broken and so the other side's door opened and closed easily.

The Declare war move are to scare off the human army to don't come up and kill off all the devil on the island. Than when the move to the human rule done just GTFO as quickly as possible.
Obviously it doesn't work and luckily for them they stumbled into the best outcome.

Oddly-detailed lions, if you ask me

Was thinking EXACTLY this, it feels like their level of detail is a step above most other stuff in this manga. Like kuro and the other wolves are pretty simplified even when drawn in relative detail (only base shadows). But the kuros are usually drawn pretty chibi-style, which makes the super-detailed lions even more weird. They even have highlighting, really detailed fur texturing, and color gradients, whereas kuro gets one base color, shadows, and a bit of fur fluff here and there.
My guess is that maybe the author was either not confident in drawing lions and had another artist help, or the author was recently practicing drawing lions and wanted to show off lol.

Anime season 1 was good but manga definitely better especially with all the snusnu our boy be getting . The anime just feels way to watered down
