Narrative shaping and damage control maybe it's one of the big reasons why I think the breakup between shinobu and Sakura is really permanent. But some comments they have deleted were just speculation on what chapter comes next.

It's a little too late for this story to "FIX" the wreckage of a mess that happened because of a misunderstanding born from the lack of communication between the main characters, albeit this is intended by the author to cause drama which is a reflection of the skill of the author as a writer.
