There's always hope, a few twists and reveals can change a lot abou what we see in 131 that wouldn't be too farfetch'd. Why I say approach with a light heart because hey maybe Sakura is 100% down with fuccboi now and Shinobu does choose Fumi. Or we finally get another layer to fuccboi and he's losing interest in Sakura as her career stagnates.
Katsura Airi has no will to write that story so there is no way this is a netorare the guy doesn't get the girl back fumi or bust.
NTRs where MC gets girl back exist here and there, definitely not common but it can happen. Not sure about regular manga cases but if thats nonexistent then maybe thats what Airi goes for.

This goes back to the whole creating unique stories interview, Katsura Airi could just start right here and now. Yes authors have patterns in their writing as we've clearly see now but that doesn't make it so that all their endings to their works will have the same predictable conclusion imo.
Come on man your just coping right now we both know sakura and shinobu's relationship is over it is permanent Katsura Airi has shown us that many haven't fully come to terms she would abandon the romance aspect of the story this late in it but she has it's fumi or nothing.
Until we get a fuller Sakura PoV I think we can both agree the doors not locked yet, tomorrow hopefully reveals more on that end.

I'm braced for the possibilities but things ending as they are now is just way too simple and boring, manga isn't ending until 137 (supposedly) so there's got to be more in the story other than trying to get readers to accept the final ships.

Me? no doubt, don't see too much wrong with it. Everyone else on the Fumi train which makes more sense, but the story I see from there just doesn't seem right.
Not sure if we can read much more deeply into it. Shinobu looks to already locked onto a good ending even if he rejects Fumi barring the script being a flop or move production hitting several blocks and being cancelled or something.

Thats another thing that gets me thinking we can be hopeful until that final nail in the coffin. Many would think that 131 pg.9 is that nail but while its highly suggestive, its not definitively showing that Sakura's heart has fallen 100% for fuccboi, as ridiculous as it sounds to say. Til we get more Sakura PoV affirming that her heart has completely shifted, it's not over.
