I know it's going to work out in the end because it's this manga, but this MC keeps on letting the bad guys finish casting the, "Kill everyone" spell after loudly proclaiming that they're going to cast a spell that's going to kill everyone.

My immediate thought when they whipped out the poison ball was to just encase it in a barrier right away, but Yuuji's gonna Yuuji it up as usual. Oh well.
To be fair, they went from pulling out the device to activating it without missing a beat and it's not like he knows how the device works, so it makes sense to gather information before taking any action.
It's also somewhat consistent with his personality, and sometimes it works in his favour, sometimes not. For instance, when the evil dude came to get samples of the cursed flowers, he delayed putting a barrier around the slimes, and getting detected, because he analysed right up to the last moment if the evil dude could actually see the slime and was targeting it. That worked in his favour and he was able to follow the evil dude back to their lair undetected.
He just always waits until the last moment to take a decision. And while it might not be a practical trait, it certainly is an entertaining trait since we get to see him deal with ridiculous threats that he just let develop.
And also, the villains in this manga are comically evil. I'd personally be as shocked as he always is at finding an endless number of mad, genocidal magic scientists organisations that keep creating ridiculous weapons of mass destruction. Meanwhile there's essentially no one showing that level of genius who is not genocidal, so he's just soloing absolutely every evil organisation around. XD

I feel like the smart thing to have done would be to barrier them all in and then hellfire of annihilation them immediately once they agreed to murdering a bunch of people for profits.
I know the author needs to author because story needs the exposition dump, but it'd have made way more sense in-world to just firebomb the secret base as soon as it was confirmed they were all irredeemable monsters.

Yuuji it's time to put these baddies to rest.
I don't know but Yuuji is doing what Recon team in IRL does. Yuuji need more solid info on who or what organization he is dealing with. Like previous chapters or arc, he didn't stop the baddies until he knows who the real enemy is and also has proper magic to stop them. I think this manga/novel has variety of ways to deal with them. Yuuji supposed to have a proper base to do detective work and proper documents to review who his enemy is but nah, he is too mobile and only keeps the cases in his head. This is just my opinion.

Yuuji to be the slowest mother fucker in the world. He's sitting here listening to them converse about cursing and killing people and he just literally sits around with a thumb up his ass doing absolutely nothing. He doesn't blast them with a spell b4 they do anything. I swear he has a 40 iq
