I don't see why I should drop a series just because 5-10% of MangaDex readers are missing chapters and even less like 3-5% won't go out of their way to read it elsewhere then just go back to mangadex. If people started doing so just because of mangadex readrs you'd be missing out on alot of series.

All that I expected of TL continued with gap is this exact explanation why there's a gap. You have provided that loud and clear, and you should not be bothered by any whining anymore.

If anyone want a gap chapter, they have exact 2 options; find it elsewhere, or beg someone to bring it here (by translating themselves, not aggregating.)

I agree your not obligated. But you are very wrong about how common it is that people stick to one site. Many use dex for update notices, and keeping track of their lists, I would say the vast majority probably in the 90% range only use dex, and most of them do not engage in comments. Rather than actively seeking out chapters they just wait on updates.
And you being so defensive forces replies to be more aggressive in response. You were not being told to drop the series, they were upset its not all here. You have put yourself in a defensive position from the start, so people have to counteract that to be able to say anything.

To be fair, this isn't the first, nor the only series to have this kind of issue.
Plenty of entitled people out there.
I primarily use the Dex as well, but if the series got DMCA-ed or the translator uploading here disappears, you just have to suck it up and follow another site.

That's just life when you're sailing the seven seas.
