Yeah, we get it, she's insane, and for mysterious reason, no one is reacting and this guy suffered all of that for years, only to snap in a moment, where it is convenient for an author to end her life, as if she didn't break him enough, bla, bla, bla. Can we move on? :nyoron:
I really think this author is overusing shock value of Yotsuba's mother insanity.

Why do japanese people always write cult leader as this siper charismatic super powerful entity that can control everything. Like they are just people
Because they not truly believe in God but wanted salvation of their misery life. coupled with their mentally of always following order and hierarchy and easily succumb to peer pressure to look good and their images.

This is a verbatim editorial meeting between this mangaka and their editor.

Whats her status?
Evil.
Whats her motivation?
Evil.
How did she get that way?
Evil.
That's not an adverb.

Adverbs aren't evil.
Evil.

Evil.
Great. See you then.
Evil.

Because real-life cult leaders often really are that charismatic and controlling?

Famous examples like Jonestown and Heaven's Gate come to mind.

If we look at Japanese cults, there was Aum Shinrikyo. Their leader, Asahara, claimed to be a messianic figure with supernatural powers and had his members carry out domestic chemical terrorist attacks using sarin gas.
The two cults that split off from Aum Shinrikyo are formally designated terrorist organizations.

So, unfortunately, these portrayals are very much grounded in reality.

So that's why Yotsuba is such a bad person.
She inherits it from her mother's blood.

Blood will tell as they say. The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
Looks like those other characters were right after all. Yotsuba really is the worst.
The heck are you on. Yotsuha is not a bad person. Would a bad person be able to willingly suffer and endure so much just to save and bring happiness to one person. Don't even think about comparing her to whatever evil that was her mother
