It mayn't give you much context about the story but it provides you enough resource to understand the plot.
Your obsession to something.Your incapability of giving up the same despite of knowing that it's not achieveable for you.
There are some metaphorical phrases which may tell you about how some relationships actually work in reality.
Like That "chickens and Light Bulbs" phrase at the end of the one shot,light bulb is there for those chickens but chickens ain't there for those lightbulbs.
Lightbulb uses itself to help the chicken to produce the egg. But, those lightbulb gets nothing in the return.
It's how some relationships are among human beings.
The large number of glowing lightbulbs at the end scene just tells you. It's not you alone in this world who are stuck in the situation like that but there were many others like you there, fulfilling other's dream.
It's my interpretation and I may be wrong there. But, I wrote what I have felt there.
