Doesn't seem so, but yeah it is another 'autobiographical' manga in a very similar style, apparently truly based on real life events. According to imdb there's a documentary out there titled 'Homie Kei: the Gangster who became a Chicano' but I can't find it...

Completely agree. It's a waste to snipe a manga that is regularly being worked on when you clearly have the necessary skill to work on something else, I get that it's probably some personal beef with the other scanlation team but it would be healthier to move onto something else.
