The opportunity still exists for the MC to think that it's just an overgrown fly and then look around for the real demon after one-shotting it. I won't believe in anything else until I see it. The addition of the hero does make this series more palatable, imo. She sort of bridges the gap...

This chapter sorta smelled like character development but it's only chapter 2 so it may not last. This series kinda reminds me of Mushoku Tensei with how the MC starts off as rather unlikable. I don't think this series has quite the same potential though.
