Although you think of works and think you are saved by your works, your works were never needed because Jesus has died for everyone and everything on earth and became Lord over all.
Jesus has always been with you, all you have to do is acknowledge that you are a sinner and you can't keep the law, that is why Jesus came to die for you, you can't stop sinning. And it is only through Jesus that you acknowledge the law
Jesus has already paid the price for you
You don't confirm your salvation with your thoughts, feelings or emotions which all come from the devil, you confirm it with the word. The word says you are saved
Apostle Paul, he is trying to tell us that we can't keep the law, he tells us to also examine ourselves when we accept that Jesus died for us else we believe to our own damnation: he said this because you are saved when you accept that you can't do anything because you are a sinner with a sinfull nature inherited from Adam, non of you good works will get you to heaven only Jesus's sacrifice on the cross can. The same way you can't change your race, you can't change your sinful nature. If you follow Jesus and think you get to heaven by your own works then you haven't realized that you needed Jesus sacrifice on the cross, that Is why he said to examine yourself, making sure you believe correctly.
If you try to keep the law you will sin, that is why it says the law exposes your sinfull nature, showing you can't keep it without sinning.
God gave the law for people to see that they couldn't keep them diligently: without doing bad and see that they were imperfect.
That is why Jesus came to die because the wages of sin is death, not asking for forgiveness every time you sinned, there was no way around it, a price had to be paid.
The law wasn't given to be right with God. It is written in the Bible that our best works are filthy rags before God, that is why Jesus came to die for humanity, to pay the price we could never pay. It is written that he came to fulfill the law, and those who are in Christ are made right with God .
Since Jesus died once, we are all saved once, no one is under the law, we will still act sinfully because of our sinfully nature (flesh), but our identity is in Christ, he doesn't remember our sins. We wait for his return to give us new bodies and hearts, because nothing is promised in this life, his promises are in a life to come that cannot be compared to this life.
Hence all we have to do is believe, it is written in John 6:29, that the only work that God wants us to do is to believe in the one he sent, because we can't keep the law, but through Jesus we fulfill the law and are alive because he is risen and alive,
When he says love your neighbor's and achieve perfection, through believing in Jesus you are made holy and cannot be made unholy because he died once, through him the law of love is fulfilled and through him we are instantly made perfect, it is not a process.
The only thing now can be to help bring to the awareness of people that nobody is under the law anymore and are made holy, because of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross.
They have to believe to accept their salvation. It is written that if you have faith as small as a mustered seed you can say to the tree be uprooted and planted by the river bank and it will listen, it is saying that when you believe, you ( the tree) will be uprooted and planted by the streams of water which is Jesus, you can never be uprooted once that is done. It is written in the bible that nobody can snatch those who have been saved from the father's hand. Once you are saved you are saved forever.
It is written in the bible that faith without works is dead. If Jesus didn't die on the cross and resurrect our faith would be useless, but he died and rose once , the work has been done and we are all saved, you may not feel safe but that is also still work of the flesh which is from the devil, so with your thoughts and emotions. You don't confirm your salvation with your thoughts, you confirm it with the word. The word says you are saved.
